Addiction and abuse of drugs have remained an unexplainable circumstance, even till today. A mistaken assumption is that drug abusers lack moral principles, and if given a chance or in the presence of will power, their selections could be altered. In reality, drug addiction is known as a complex disease and requires more than will power or mere good intentions to change. Due to the fact that drug addiction could change the way the brain works, with time, the brain promotes compulsive drug abuse. It is difficult to relent even if one is ready to do so. Drug abuse has negative influences not only in the lives of mortals, but also in the society. Drug abuse and addiction not only has negative effects in the lives of the people†¦show more content†¦In this paper, I would expatiate on the issue by making the readers understand why people get involved in drugs and circumstances that surround the issue. I would focus on the medical culture that has led to drug abuse and addict ion in recent times: The traditional medicine versus modernized health care. I have decided to take the focal point of my argument from the paper, â€Å"The Importance of Knowing but not knowing.† Drawing necessary points to support my claims and further research on similar papers to broaden the perspective of the reader. Also, I would brief the reader on the psychological effects of drug abuse and addiction. It is a wide known fact to most people involved in crime today, especially the teenagers started as a result of drug abuse. This fact has been demonstrated in several journals one of which is â€Å"Violence Exposure and Drug use in Central America.† This paper gives an insight to the reason for violence amongst youths and using statistics to buttress important points. One thing about drug abuse and addictions is that the victims do not only tolerate it, but also by the society and an aspect of the society that loses to drug abuse is the economy.
